The Johannesburg City Parks and ZOO (UCPZ) is an agency of the City of Johannesburg. Its mandate is the provision, Preservation and Management of Open Spaces, Biodiversity, Environmental and Conservation services through Education, Research, direct Conservation action and Recreation with a focus on the Zoo, Parks and Cemeteries.

The following exciting and challenging opportunities are available for achievementorientated individuals with initiative and a commitment to give substance to the City’s vision of a green, clean, conserved and active world-class, African city.

The Johannesburg City Parks and ZOO is offering unemployed Graduates who are based in the Johannesburg Region, between the ages of 18-35 opportunities to apply for the 2013/2014 Work Integrated Learning Programme.


  • FET College Students in their Second year of study who need exposure in the Working Environment 
  • Subfields such as HR, Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management, Public Relations and Town Planning 
  • Basic computer skillsm, communication (proficiency in English) and mathematical literacy are required. 

Duration: The Work Integrated Programme will be based at various JCPZ facilities for a fixed period of 12 months.

Stipend: Monthly R 1200.00

Who can apply?

  • Unemployed South African Graduates in possession of the above mentioned Qualifications
  • Reside in Johannesburg Region (Preference will be given to people living in close proximity to various JCPZ facilities
  • Must be in the ages 18-35 years 
  • People with disabilities and FET graduates are encouraged to apply.
