Wanted: Instrumentation Mechanician Trainee at Kimberley Underground Mines

The Kimberley Underground Mines JV invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to be trained in the following Trade: Instrumentation Mechanician. Training will be over a four-year period, which will also entail +/- 16 to 20 weeks per year at an accredited Mining Qualifications Training Centre as determined by Kimberley Underground Mines JV.Ref. APP/05/2014

Kimberley Underground Mines JV is situated in the city of Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The Mine consists of 3 conventional slushier drift block cave mines.

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12 with Maths and Science passed (will be an advantage) AND possession of an N2 Certificate with one of the four subjects being the relevant Trade Theory (Instrumentation Mechanician).

Short-listed candidates will be required to undergo the following prior to final selection:

  • Panel interview
  • Certificate of Fitness
  • Technical aptitude evaluation
  • Vienna/Dover assessment
