Ericsson seeks a graduate to join them as a Strategy Analyst Graduate at our office in Johannesburg. This twelve month programme commences in January 2016.

Job Summary

Identify, gather insights and analyze players, businesses, technologies, behavior and attitudes in the market. Provide actionable insights, foresight and forecast to Ericsson on competitors, customers, adjacent industries, suppliers, end user trends and consumers – to influence strategy, product and service development and market making. These insights will also be used to position Ericsson as a thought leader. Develop new methods and tools for analysis, and contribute to BI processes improvements.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Areas span business intelligence and strategy development
  • Gather and analyze telecommunication market and industry trends
  • Perform industry, business, market, consumer, competitor, supplier, technology, regulator and brand marketing analysis/intelligence
  • Generate and communicate strategic insights to influence strategy and market development choices
  • Support sales, marketing and other business functions with tactical intelligence and workshop content
  • Build business cases and evaluate investments needed to reach the strategic goal
  • Develop and evaluate methods and tools for strategy and business intelligence
  • Support strategy initiatives in the region

Your background

  • Honours Degree in Commerce, Management, Economics or Marketing
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with exposure to strategy tools & frameworks
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail required of someone presenting to executives
  • Ability to build networks, lead and influence people without formal authority
  • Ability to gather and review large amounts of information, and synthesise key messages
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and formulate arguments evidenced in presentations & reports
  • High levels of energy, responsiveness and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work under periods of sustained pressure and deliver on deadlines
  • Advanced levels of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and MS Word.
