Internship Programme at Harry Gwala District Municipality – 2014

The Harry Gwala District Municipality invites applications from young people who are interested in EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.

Opportunities are available in the Departments listed below. The experiential learning programme will run for a period of one (1) year and successful candidates will receive coaching, supervision and an allowance of R3000 a month for the duration of the contractual period.

Corporate Services

  • Human Resource Management  (x1)
  • Public Administration(x1)
  • ICT (x1)
  • Communication (x1)

Office Municipal Manager

  • Risk Management (x1)

Community Services

  • Public Administration (x1)

Infrastructure Services

  • Civil Engineering (Project Management) (x2)

Water Services

  • Water Reticulation/Plumbing (x1)
  • Water Treatment/Water Process Control (x1)
  • Civil Engineering Technology (x1)


  • A relevant NQF 6/7 qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
  • N3-N5 qualification for Water Reticulation and Water Treatment/Water Process Controllers
  • Between ages 18 and 35
  • Residing  within the Harry Gwala District (Proof of Residence in Harry Gwala is required
