Position: Principal Finance Clerk

Salary:R 101 292 – R 131 496 per annum (plus benefits)

Minimum Requirements:

  • * Applicable B-Degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification (360 credits)
  • * Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Accountancy or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification (120 credits)
  • * Driver’s licence
  • * Relevant experience dependent on qualification

Core Responsibilities:

  • * Verify the financial and accountable aspects/procedures/ Council policies in respect of salary administration to verify that all relevant Acts/By-Laws/Council policies and resolutions are applied correctly by Pay offices and to eliminate possible financial losses and risks to Council
  • * Undertake and perform cheque processing function to ensure the timeous processing of Pay office generated cheques and safeguarding of unused cheques and cheque signing machine
  • * Perform any other Pay office related functions to ensure smooth running of section
