The Lesema Programme
The Letsema Learnership Programme is designed to assist the development of unemployed matriculants. It is an occupationally-based learning programme that combines theory and practice, and culminates in the achievement of a National Qualifications Framework-registered, post-matric qualification.
Letsema learners are employed by Nedbank for the duration of the contract – which is typically a one-year period. There is no obligation on the bank to employ the learner on termination of the contract.
The Kuyasa Programme
The Kuyasa Post-Graduate Learnership Programme is focused on the development of unemployed graduates who have completed a BCom degree. The aim of the programme is to provide unemployed graduates with an opportunity to gain practical skills in a banking environment.
Like the Letsema Programme, it is an occupationally-based initiative combining theory and practice, and culminates in the achievement of a National Qualifications Framework-registered post-graduate qualification. And, as is the case with Letsema learners, it is a one-year contract with no obligation on the bank to employ the learner on termination of the contract
How do you apply?
The learnership programmes are administered and funded by BANKSETA (The Banking Sector Education & Training Authority), who outsource the recruitment of learners on behalf of all employers participating in the leanership programmes, including Nedbank. The process learners must follow if they want to apply, together with the learnerships’ applicable dates, is published in the national press and on the BANKSETA website – www.bankseta.org.za/learnerships – when the recruitment process begins.
