Experience, development and passion
The Graduate Programmes consist of equal parts professional and personal development. From the very beginning you will be assigned a personal mentor who will guide your expedition and support your overall development throughout the programme. Through 3-4 job rotations, you will gather international experience, be exposed to various types of managements and start building a strong network of ambitious, professional and dedicated colleagues. No matter where in the organisation you find yourself, you will be among passionate colleagues who live by our values and our work ethics with respect for society.

When the application period ends selected candidates will be invited to participate in a telephone interview.

If you are selected for the final step
Based on this interview some candidates will be asked to take part in the Graduate Recruitment Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark on 20–21 March 2012. Those not attending the recruitment centre will be informed by the beginning of March 2012.

At the Graduate Recruitment Centre candidates will take part in interviews, team and individual exercises and will be given feedback on personality and IQ tests conducted prior to the Graduate Recruitment Centre. The cost of flights and accommodation will be met by Novo Nordisk.

All applicants offered a place on Base Camp 2012 will be informed by telephone and will then receive a contract soon after. Applicants must formally accept their offer within two weeks of receiving the contract. Applicants living outside Denmark at the time of recruitment will be offered relocation assistance.

Graduates start their first rotation on 3 September 2012. During the first 4–5 months of employment all graduates take part in an extensive training programme which includes business understanding, project management, presentation technique and site visits.

The Lonmin Bursary, Sponsorship and Graduate Scheme has been established to assist potential students to attain qualifications in mining-related disciplines, thereby contributing to the general upliftment of skills and qualification levels in the mining sector.

The Sponsorhsip Scheme can assist prospective students to enter the Bursar Scheme.   With this Scheme students are given the opportunity to upgrade their Matric Maths and Science results.   Successful Maths and Science results could lead to a fully paid Bursary and entrance at a University Level.   This Sponsorship Scheme is only available to the Lonmin community people.

Lonmin offers fully paid Bursaries to students who have excelled in their studies.   These students are given the opportunity to further their studies at accredited formal tertiary istitutions.

On successful completion of their academic studies at tertiary education centres the Bursars then join Lonmin Platinum as Employees with the designation “Graduates in Training”.   As Graduates in Training they are required to undergo a pre-determined development programme which is outcomes based within their relevant field.   Each Graduate in Training will be assigned a Mentor for his/her guidance.
