Exxaro grants bursaries to matriculants* who have a keen interest in studying towards obtaining degrees or diplomas in the following disciplines. Bursaries are also granted to students who are currently studying at universities in South Africa.

- Electrical-heavy current
- Industrial
- Civil
- Supply Chain
- Information management
- Human resources
- Finance
Diplomas
- Mining
- Mine surveying
* Bursaries will be awarded to candidates who meet all the selection criteria as determined by the organisation. The bursary covers registration and tuition fees, book fees and residence fees.
We assist students with their academic well-being and offer exposure to all the required fields of practical training. A mentor committee assists each bursary holder from the first year of study through to the Professional-in-Training structured training programme, offering advice on career decisions and dynamic opportunities within the organisation.
A prize-giving function is held annually to reward top performing bursars.
Applicants who wish to start as first year students for the next academic year should apply for a bursary before 30 April.
